Pest Control, by Stevehen Warren

After you built that playground next to your research center, you had thirteen failed projects. Some people would see this as a coincidence. My tests sadly confirm that you have a problem with fairies. The laughter of the children pulled them in, it’s like their mystical catnip.

We need to draw them away, we’ll close the playground and install a brook leading into the woods. Along this stream we’ll place actors portraying bumbling medieval types who we’ll instruct to move slightly away every day. We’ll get you pest free in two weeks.

Laughing at me is not helping matters sir.

Stevehen Warren lives in a little house by the sea typing off odd stories for odd people. He has published short stories with Alban Lake, Dreamscape, movie reviews for The Rotten Tomato and various other fine writing accepting establishments.
